Zeri lamb

Autochthonous breed of sheep in the province of Massa Carrara

The Agnello di Zeri is a native breed of sheep that from many years inhabiting the territory of Zeri, locality in the province of Massa Carrara.

Called the Zarasca, is characterized by having kept unchanged its characteristicsover time, thanks to the isolation of the area populates. Looks like a medium-large sized sheep with white coat and, often, well-developed horns.

Although his milk is higher than that of any breed of sheep to the high nutritional qualities, it is used only for the rearing of lambs.

Living most of the year the organic pasture, the Agnello di Zeri, a Presidio Slow Food, is known worldwide for its meat tender and fragrant, a product of excellence in Tuscany.
