CHEST OF ART SURROUNDED BY SOFT HILLS

The territory of Siena is a tangle of green hills and Crete Senesi which are ancient farmhouses, cottages and farms. The clays are a rare example of singular, arid territory but at the same time fascinating, where the wind blows strong and the sun never stops beating.

The famous Via Francigena is still a path surrounded by nature and crowded with hikers in search of the most beautiful scenery to see. It joined from Canterbury to Rome, and it was imperative to Siena because in the middle ages passed underneath the Hospital of Santa Maria della Scala, milestone for all pilgrims.

The Sienese district with its soft hills, symbol of Tuscan, has often been used to shoot scenes of movies and commercials. The famous advertisement for "Mulino Bianco", historic brand of cookies has been resumed in the Sienese countryside, near the village of Chiusdino.
