Carciofo Violetto of Val di Cornia

The tastiest artichoke in Tuscany

Artichoke Leghorn coast is listed as traditional food products of the Tuscany region.  This typical artichoke is grown mainly in the plain of Venturina and is best known simply as "Carciofo Violetto" of Val di Cornia.

This typical product of the coastal area, is cultivated for almost forty years and thanks to the microclimate of the place the artichoke has a high eating quality. The cycle of cultivation takes place from autumn to winter and in october we practice the so called "scardinatura". With artichokes you can prepare delicious dishes and are excellent in oil.
