White wine from the Val d'Elsa

DOCG Vernaccia di San Gimignano is the first Italian white wine to receive the denomination of origin controlled and guaranteed. The first productions date back to 1200 and the numerous quotations from Dante to the Medici family, make it a product tied strongly to the Tuscan culture. This Sangiovese-based wine is a white that has a golden yellow colour which fades to a more intense as proceeds her aging.

Its fruity aroma with hints of citrus, but also of flowers perfectly complements its fine taste and slightly bitter close to almond. The Vernaccia DOCG, is one of the products that best represents the Era Valley and is one of the very few white wines that improve with age, making it even more valuable. Is the ideal accompaniment for fish dishes with its sophistication and its delicate taste, the result of the few wineries that produce near San Gimignano.
