THE MADE IN TUSCANY THROUGH WINE

Scansano ranks among the green hills of Albegna and Fiora and the Valle dell'Ombrone, crossed by limpid rivers which adorn the expanse of Tuscan Maremma.

The ancient origins documented by the Etruscan civilization in the area make it a very old village. The story of Scansano intertwines however in late medieval era with the political events of Tuscany that led to become Deputy chief town of province of Grosseto.

Today in Scansano, home of the brilliant "Morellino DOCG", you can visit picturesque mining areas, churches with valuable works of sacred art in them and the watchtower of the old belt of walls commissioned by the Aldobrandeschi family.

The colorful Festa dell'uva is an unmissable appointment di Scansano that celebrates the meeting of cultural heritage, folklore and tradition in this region.

A must attend event where fun and good food in the company of course of excellence of the territory made in Tuscany, the "Morellino di Scansano DOCG".

 

Typical products

The "Morellino di Scansano DOCG" is one of the most appreciated wines of Tuscany, beloved throughout Italy for its intense flavor and aroma that matures during aging. This wine has a very important request, so much so that in the 1990s reached an average production of 1.3 million liters per year and is ideal to accompany meat dishes and beautiful "tortelli maremmani".
