Palio delle Contrade di Perignano

Popular tradition of Valdera

The Palio delle Contrade di Perignano is an ancient historical commemoration that takes place in the small village of Perignano, in the town of Casciana Terme Lari. The Festival is held every year, consecutive in two days in September, 1985.

The six contrade festivals compete to win a gold medal, in several races, including those for best show and best appearing.

A selected jury assigns a score based on the interpretation that each district can give through very sophisticated dresses and careful to preserve the medieval charm.
