Palio di Fucecchio

Tradition and history in the event fucecchiese

Born as a reenactment of a dispute that occurred around 1200 called Palio della Lancia, il Palio di Fucecchio is today at the heart of the events of Fucecchio. The equestrian competition takes place every year on the second Sunday in may, in what the neighbouring town of fucecchio call "the pit", a natural race suited to horse races.

Challenge 12 districts with as many jockeys riding horses bareback, bareback. The races take place in two batteries of six horses, four best horses qualified for the final; He won the Palio who obviously comes first.
