Villa Olmi is situated in the Florentine area known since the middle ages for the abundance of water and greenery: the Pian di Ripoli. The area was so prosperous orchards and farmland, which was called the "Orchard of Florence".

The first owners assured of Villa Olmi was the Ardinghelli; the villa was rebuilt following a siege and passed with all his lands to the Mozzi family. It was this family to embellish it and to preserve it for over 300 years with restorations and embellishments which is inspired by the trim.

In 1862 the villa came into the possession of Hippolyte Pestellini, who made it the centerpiece of a large agricultural enterprise. Pestellini required to share the construction of a road that would combine the parish of Ripoli with the artery close without passing the entrance of his residence. Once the work was finished, the owner, inspired by two gigantic elms in the Park of the villa, the baptized as Villa Olmi. With the passing of decades, descendants of the family Pestellini left the villa.

It was bought in 1999 by the family Plots that began a long process of restoration, enhancing cultural and historical aspects, bringing to light frescoes. The aim was to give the atmosphere that you breathed in the eighteenth century.

The Villa Olmi was opened on 31 July 2006 and since then opens its doors to international guests who wish to spend a relaxing holiday, just steps from the birthplace of the Renaissance.
