The oldest records date back to 1350, when the settlement belonged to the family of the Albizzi. In 1493, the mill passed to the friars of the Badia Fiorentina. In 1868 was expanded to produce not only cereals, as always, but also olive pomace oil, the gap. In 1966, when the mill was still in operation, is checking out the last great flood which led the Millers to the abandonment of the building.

In a Hotel room is still visible the ancient hydraulic machines of the 1800s from the factory of engineer Gustav Daverio in Zurich. The old mill's entrance is accessed in the "Piazzetta Mauro Lotti", which has been lovingly restored, keeping intact the ancient splendour of the stones.

In 2003, the mill was bought by the family Lotti, which saved him from abandonment and refurbished, retaining its original appearance. At the same time, the complex was equipped with all the modern comforts.
