Typical cake of Carnival

The donut-shaped Berlingozzo is a characteristic of the city of Prato, whose origins date back to the de ' Medici that seems to go really greedy.

Always is a typical dessert of the Carnival period, as its name comes from Berlingaccio, a 15th-century mask used during this event. The old recipe of the cake is kept by the women of Lawn with great care, and its preparation is always respectful of the doses and ingredients handed down from generation to generation. Consisting of a mixture of eggs, yeast, flour and sugar, to make the unique flavour is the aroma of lemon and orange zests of. Its texture and matte golden color makes it a very appreciated. The soft dough is even tastier if accompanied by ice cream or fruit.
