Loretta Caponi, legend of embroidery, begins to express interest for this ancient art at the age of nine and fourteen delivers his first work on Commission. In the early years ' 50 exposes his accomplishments in Rome and, due to its innate qualities, receives a large consensus by a sophisticated audience.

Combining its sensitivity with the cultures Italian and Florentine, together with her husband Dino Caponi, is soon involved in the town's cultural scene with writers and painters like Palazzeschi, Montale, Ungaretti, Carrà and Campbell.

In 1967 Loretta opened his first shop-shop in Florence in Borgo Ognissanti using, in contrast to the current fashion, fabrics like cotton, linen and silk, creating smocking long sleeved Nightgowns and ruffles at the neck.

By this time the brand Loretta Caponi has established itself in the international arena by attracting high-profile consumers from around the world, such as Princess Diana, the Duchess of Kent, Madonna, or the actress Jane Fonda.

Today's workshop is located in the heart of Florence on Via Tornabuoni. Beside the large sales area, with frescoed ceilings and antique furniture, are the laboratories where customers can express themselves creatively poking around in the vast selection of fabrics.
