Laterina Pergine Valdarno

A beautiful village by the historian aretino

Laterina Pergine Valdarno is among the most characteristic sites of aretino. In the village, situated on a hill, you can visit in Piazza della Repubblica, the Chiesa dei SS. Ippolito e Cassiano, recently rebuilt after an earthquake occurred in the twentieth century. For a picturesque view of the Valle dell'Arno you can take a walk along the walls of the medieval castle whose towers were changed in 1600. The Porta del Ghianderino, perfectly preserved, topped with the lily of Florence, evidenced by the Florentine dominion over the land.

Taste and abundance are the basis of dishes with beans and vegetables of local gastronomy. Among the excellence, the Chianina steak, accompanied by a fine selection of wines red branded DOC e DOCG.
