THE TOWN OF WOOD

Cascina is a town of Tuscany features a grid plan due to perpendicular streets which reveal its Roman origins. Theater discounts between Pisa and Florence in 1364, was fortified because it conveniently located close to Pisa and Florence.

Many medieval churches in the country. These include the Pieve di San Casciano with the Battesimo di Gesù in terracotta by Andrea della Robbia school.

In Cascina doesn't miss an opportunity to taste Tuscan specialties in the many taverns and eateries in town. In addition to the traditional, the city is renowned for woodworking.

The Museum of Arts and crafts and the Art Institute specializing in wooden art testify to the territory's bond with this type of handicraft as well as Mercantico: the market dedicated to antiques in which find furniture and furnishings.
