THE COUNTRY OF THE BUTTERO OF MAREMMA

Capalbio is a country that stretches from the coast to the Green Tuscan hinterland, characterized by hills of the Maremma. On the one hand washed by the sea, and the other in the countryside, this site binds its history to Medici and foreign colonization have left a strong imprint on the territory.

Fine Renaissance buildings such as the Chiesa di San Nicola and Palazzo Collacchioni adorn the heart of the country. The whole Centre is still surrounded by walls of Capalbio, a medieval masterpiece that thanks to their walkway lets you stroll admiring the beautiful landscape.

Capalbio is considered the country House in Tuscany, the place that marries tradition and culture Maremma par excellence. During the event, Capalbio, reenactment of the Buttero, the typical Maremma cowboy parade riding their horses. A festive atmosphere surrounded by games and customs of the countryside. During the fair which takes place from 31 March to 2 April, you can taste the typical dishes of the Maremma and the Tuscan wine.
