The Golden tree before whom exchanging promises of eternal love
In the small medieval town of Lucignano lies the Golden tree, known as "tree of love".
Guarded in a glass display unit within the Municipal Museum in the country, this is the only tree-shaped reliquary in the world; made over a hundred years old is nearly three meters high and consists of a small temple-shaped base from which to develop twelve branches decorated with vine leaves.
According to the ancient tradition of the place, the Golden tree is a lucky charm for lovers; for this engaged couples and newlyweds before it renewed promises of love, in the hope that their spell lasts for eternity.
