Shooting stars: ideal sites for observing

The light show will last about 10 days

Missing very little at the night of the shooting, magical night of August in which 10 many shall lift up his eyes to heaven to enjoy the spectacle of bright patterns.

Actually what we call shooting stars, Meteor rains are left by the passage of comets and asteroids.

The appointment with the Perseids (most commonly stars) is renewed in the nights from 10 to 14 August, best time of the year when they can observe. Experts say the peak of the swarm will be visible between the 12 and 13 April 2018.

The Perseids are quite bright and therefore do not require complete darkness. If you really want to admire the beauty you will need to get away from city lights and look up at the sky from 24.00 to 4.00 in the morning.

Where to watch the shooting stars?

In the Parco Botanico del Chianti , for example, has one of the most beautiful skies. But you can go also in Val d'Elsa, towards Casole or in the area of Semifonte.

Other best places for observation are Lajatico, Peccioli, Piombino, Montarrenti, Strada Provinciale Sant'Andrea Magliano (Magliano in Toscana). Needless to say, weather permitting, all the mountains are ideal.
