Millennium Sunset Concert

The rooftop concert June 21 at San Miniato a Monte

In Firenze, in the splendid setting of the churchyard of San Miniato al Monte will take place on 21 June 2018 the Millennium Sunset Concert.

During the thousand years of the Abbey, andbeneficial wind supported by Palazzo Tornabuoni Association and the Asociazione di Passignano, sponsored by Comune di Firenze and Consiglio della Regione Toscana; with music, theatre and dance that will accompany the evening with panoramic city views.

An orchestra of 25 musicians, The Filharmonie; the artistic direction of Ian Cecil Scott, theatrical performances of Medici Dynasty and the distinguished presence of actor Glauco Mauri which will trace the history of Florence and of the Abbazia San Miniato; for an event that mixes with taste the art culture.

The whole show is inspired by water, air, Earth and fire: the four elements of the universe that will be harmonized with a beautiful viennese Waltz, before leaving room for prayer by Abbot Bernardo. In the final part, a song Gregorian chant and a surprise for all participants

All participants will be left a tribute for the event: a candle and a precious limited edition candle holder to smithereens, designed by Migone.

The Millennium Sunset Concert will be staged at the churchyard of the Chiesa San Miniato al Monte Thursday, June 21, from 19.30 hrs until sunset. The proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the construction of a sculpture donated to the community of San Miniat, installed at the Church complex.
