The oldest equestrian competition after Siena

Are you looking for a destination for a trip out of town? The ancient village of Buti, town in the province of Pisa at the foot of Monte Serra, suits you best.

The village is a small jewel set among olive groves, which for many years have represented and still represent the main productive activity, partly as a result of joining the "oil route: Pisan mountains".

On 20 January 2019, in the country, will take place as usual on Palio di Buti, very ancient historical event after the Palio di Siena. The race involves a horse race conducted by jockeys in representation of the seven districts that has divided the country.

The Palio will start at 14 but from 10 historical parade is planned and the blessing of the horses. For the occasion the whole village will be like stepping into the past, in the 17th, with people dressed in historical costumes.
