ONE OF THE OLDEST TUSCAN SITE

Located on the back of the Apennines, where it branches off a torrent of the Magra's river which makes this part of land one of the most beautiful parts of Tuscany.

Filattiera bequeaths his story at the medieval fortress which was built in defence of the Via Francigena, the historic road from Britain to France led to Tuscany.

Full of beautiful churches and surrounded by charming villages, this place in the heart of Lunigiana is considered one of the most historic Tuscany. Are proof of the finds from the iron age of the 12th century BC and the alternation between the Malaspina and Medici Tuscan families who have left a noticeable mark on the territory.

Traditions and Typical products

One of the typical products of Lunigiana coming from Filattiera is the spalla cotta, a special spicy and salty ham, cooked and seasoned very tasty because wrapped in fat. Unique is good to go with the excellent Tuscan red wines.
