ART AND TRADITION

Bientina, positioned in the center of the area of the lower Valdarno and the plain of Lucca boasts a very ancient past. Inhabited since Etruscan times, the country knows a strong development around 1179 when there arose a series of defensive constructions visible today in the towers of the old Castle.

Two churches in the heart of the village are worth noting. The Chiesa di San Domenico which contains a 17th century an Ultima Cena by Aurelio Lomi and the Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta, with Rococo additions in the 18th century.
