THE MEDIEVAL VILLAGE OVERLOOKING THE SEA
The territory of Bibbona who divides his time between the Ligurian Sea and dense woodland, hosts a nature reserve which gives to the Costa degli Etruschi a great landscape value.
The village, inhabited by the year 1000, developed from the 12th century when many medieval fortifications were still visible and enlarged, like the imposing square-shaped tower in the highest area of ??the city. As a result of land reclamation began in the eighteenth century, the whole area around the old city was redeveloped and sprang up large areas of pine forests that represent the vast majority of the green of Bibbona.
Strolling through the surrounding woods is worth visiting the Riserva naturale Biogenetica, a protected area which houses rare botanical species.
