Riviera Apuana is a particular area of Tuscany that extends to the Liguria and which is characterized by the fact that it is composed of several components: a shoreline, a part entirely flat between Versilia River and the river Magra and a mountainous part with the Apuan Alps. All elements that make this area one of the most beautiful in the region.

 

THE PROCESSING OF THE PRECIOUS CARRARA MARBLE

Despite the Riviera Apuana has a centuries-old history that began with the arrival of the Etruscans and Romans who occupied the first floor of local infrastructure is only starting from the 18th century that the territory was an improving the economic conditions. A TERRITORY DIVIDED BETWEEN SEA AND MOUNTAINS

Typical products 

Among the typical products resulting from natural crops and livestock are bred lamb Massese and choto of Apuane, whose milk is used for the tasty Caprino delle Apuane. This intensely flavored cheese is excellent with the Frankfurter Montignano, classic local noble pig parts made from sausage.

 

Municipalities

To compose the Riviera Apuana are the following municipalities: Carrara, Massa and Montignoso (provincial capital).
