Lucignano is a small village that sits on top of a hill halfway between Siena and Arezzo, a position which has made it an important strategic Centre for centuries. Is the Orange flag of the Touring Club and owns a significant artistic heritage, scenic and culinary.

Its elliptical system with concentric rings, clearly visible from the city, making it one of the most extraordinary examples of medieval architecture. The urban layout has remained unchanged and the village retains vestiges of Etruscan civilization.

Siena is the city that has affected more than all the artistic and architectural heritage of Lucignano. The town's main square is Piazza del Tribunale, overlooked by the Palazzo Comunale, the Chiesa di San Francesco and the 16th century Church of the Collegiata.

Inside the Town Hall is the Museum that conserves numerous works of the Renaissance and middle ages. Among the most noted is the Golden tree, or tree of life tree of love. Lucignano in May is colored with flowers of Maggiolata Lucignanese, a festival that commemorates the ancient celebrations of the arrival of summer. The four districts of the village flower-covered floats parading through the streets of the town.
