Festa del Barbarossa in San Quirico d'Orcia

A choral festive and commemoration

La Festa del Barbarossa is a festive choral reenactment of an incident in San Quirico d'Orcia in the period of the early middle ages. In one of the most representative figures of the middle ages, 1155 the Barbarossa who was in San Quirico in dealing with Papal legates his coronation as emperor. The party wants to try every year to commemorate this story.

The historic meeting is presented in dramatic form and in a setting of beauty and charm at the lawn in front of the Horti Leonini and beautiful Oaks collegiate.

The feast of Barbarossa is rich in colours, sounds of trumpets, drums and ends with bandied about and archery competitions.
